Maria Jennifer grew up in a working-class family, where she learned early the value of hard work, community, and standing up for what's right. Her mother, a nurse, and her father, a small business owner, instilled in her a deep commitment to service.
After graduating from State University with degrees in Public Policy and Economics, Maria chose to return to her community rather than pursue corporate opportunities. She spent years as a community organizer, fighting for affordable housing, quality education, and economic opportunity.
Today, Maria brings that same grassroots energy and commitment to every level of government. She believes that real change comes from listening to people, not just talking at them—and from policies that lift everyone up, not just those at the top.
